Soccer Game Preview: Smoky Mountain vs. Enka

The Smoky Mountain Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Enka Jets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Smoky Mountain made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Madison, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Smoky Mountain never let Madison get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly five goals.

They hit Madison with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Angela Gonzalez (2), Gabriella Rosas (2), and Macy Craft.

Meanwhile, Enka put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Franklin 3-0. The Jets' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five games. As for Enka, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
