Basketball Recap: Kyrie Dubose and Kenadi Marek Secure Win for Devine

After losing to Somerset the last time they met, Devine decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warhorses / Arabians took down the Bulldogs 65-47 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warhorses / Arabians.

Leading Devine to victory were Kenadi Marek and Kyrie Dubose. Marek dropped a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds, while Dubose shot 50% from the field on her way to 19 points and eight boards. Thanks to that strong game, Dubose now owns an excellent 45.7% field goal percentage. Gigi Madrid was another key player, putting up nine points.

Devine was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2025.

Somerset lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Evelyn Hernandez, who posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Somerset is 8-2 when Hernandez posts five or more steals, but 8-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Delilah Tamez, who had seven points along with six boards and four steals.

Devine now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Somerset, they now have a losing record of 16-17.

Coincidentally, Devine and Somerset will both be playing Pearsall the next time they take the court. The Warhorses / Arabians will head out to face the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
