Preview: St. Patrick Shamrocks vs. St. Charles Bulldogs
The St. Patrick Shamrocks will be playing at home against the St. Charles Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Patrick will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Friday, St. Patrick took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 48-6 victory over Byron. The result was nothing new for St. Patrick, who have now won four matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
St. Patrick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Leonard, who threw for 32 yards and two touchdowns on only three passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Brayden Simon, who gained 77 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, St. Charles came up short against Merrill on Thursday and fell 14-6.
St. Patrick's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Byron and 0-8 Vestaburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.5% over those games). As for St. Charles, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
