Baseball Game Preview: Youngker Roughriders vs. Desert Edge Scorpions

The Youngker Roughriders will venture away from home to face off against the Desert Edge Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Youngker has six straight wins, Desert Edge has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Youngker's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Buckeye 10-0. The Roughriders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by nine runs or more this season.

Youngker saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Molina, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Desert Edge came up short against Verrado on Wednesday, falling 14-1.

Youngker's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Desert Edge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Youngker beat Desert Edge 5-1 in their previous meeting on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roughriders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
