Basketball Recap: South Shore Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

South Shore had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 victory over the Washburn Castle Guards. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-35 back in December of 2024.

South Shore has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Washburn, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Shore will challenge Butternut at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Washburn, they will face off against Bayfield at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Washburn is facing Bayfield at the right time seeing as Bayfield is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
