Softball Recap: Sparkman Comes Up Short

Sparkman lost against Brookwood back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Senators fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. The Senators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bella Mayfield made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Sparkman's record now sits at 31-11-1. As for Brookwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-12 record this season.

Sparkman will be taking part in a tournament against Orange Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Senators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Makos have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Brookwood, they will host Bibb County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
