Soccer Game Preview: Barrington vs. Naperville Central

The Barrington Fillies/Broncos will venture away from home to take on the Naperville Central Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Barrington sitting on ten straight victories and Naperville Central on six.

Barrington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Loyola Academy, who was ranked 25th at the time (Barrington was ranked 14th). The Fillies/Broncos never let the Ramblers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Thursday. Barrington's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last ten contests.

Meanwhile, Naperville Central's game on Thursday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on Lincoln-Way East with a sharp 4-1 victory. Naperville Central might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by three goals or more this season.

Barrington pushed their record up to 11-0-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. As for Naperville Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-1-1.

Barrington beat Naperville Central by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2022, winning 1-0. Do the Fillies/Broncos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
