Softball Recap: Pierson/Bridgehampton Takes a Loss

Pierson/Bridgehampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Phantoms this season, with their most recent defeat being a 18-3 loss back in April.

Pierson/Bridgehampton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Robinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Pierson/Bridgehampton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bayport-Blue Point, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pierson/Bridgehampton will head out to square off against Babylon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bayport-Blue Point, they will challenge Center Moriches at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.57 runs per game on average), something the Phantoms will no doubt try to take advantage of.
