Volleyball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short at Home Against Burbank

Southside unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Burbank Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Cardinals have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Southside actually scored more points across those five sets (106-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-23, 15-9.

Southside's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lila Tagle, who had 17 digs and one assist.

Coming up, Southside will square off against Edison at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Burbank, they will be taking part in a tournament against John F. Kennedy at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
