Baseball Game Preview: Rancho Cucamonga Cougars vs. Damien Spartans

For the second straight game, Rancho Cucamonga will face off against Damien. The Cougars will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Spartans at 3:15 p.m. Rancho Cucamonga's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Damien's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Rancho Cucamonga didn't have quite enough to beat Damien and fell 5-4. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Damien's part, Andrew Torres tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Russell Del Castillo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Bobby Logue was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Damien now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Rancho Cucamonga, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.
