Softball Recap: Shorecrest Takes a Loss

Shorecrest had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it four. They lost 19-2 to the Meadowdale Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-3 back in April.

Shorecrest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Atherton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Meadowdale, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-9. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Meadowdale's side, Jaeden Sajec was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe De Mello, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shorecrest is set to square off against their familiar foe Lynnwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Meadowdale will take on rival Shorewood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
