Recap: Gilmer Buckeyes vs. Glen Rose Tigers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Gilmer Buckeyes had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Tigers 79-42 on the road. Gilmer might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Will Henderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 271 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.1 yards per carry. Those 271 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for him. Brendan Webb did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.

Glen Rose lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Camden Raymond, who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Josiah Groeneweg was another key contributor, picking up 196 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The victory was the ninth in a row for Gilmer, bringing their record for this year to 12-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Glen Rose, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.

Gilmer will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bellville at 3:00 p.m. on December 15th. One thing working in Bellville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Glen Rose does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
