Football Recap: Academy of Careers & Exploration Comes Up Short

Academy of Careers & Exploration and Hesperia Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Academy of Careers & Exploration had to settle for second. They took a 26-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The game marked the Eagle's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hesperia Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin McWilliams, who rushed for 106 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries. Another receiver making a difference was Jackson Lake, who picked up 47 receiving yards and two scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Academy of Careers & Exploration and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Hesperia Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Academy of Careers & Exploration does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hesperia Christian, they will take on Desert Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
