Basketball Recap: St. Francis Takes a Loss

St. Francis lost against Nichols back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The St. Francis Red Raiders took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nichols Vikings. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), the Red Raiders still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why St. Francis lost, don't look at Andrew Lindstrom. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Evan Noecker, who had five points and three steals.

St. Francis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points over those games. As for Nichols, they pushed their record up to 13-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, St. Francis will square off against The Park School of Buffalo at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Park School of Buffalo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully St. Francis likes a good challenge. Nichols does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
