League recap: Kennedy scores huge upset over Strayhorn

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Strayhorn, who took down 188th ranked Strayhorn, 22-2. Ladaris Johnson threw for 85 yards and one touchdown and ran for 39 yards in the win.

Broad Street extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 3 this week by beating Coahoma Agricultural, 51-8. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

Carnez Gant was the best wideout in the league this week as Kennedy topped the Mustangs. Gant racked up two receptions for 72 yards. jeremy Gant helped Kennedy's passing attack out by catching two balls for eight yards.

CHRIS BANKS was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 122 yards as Coahoma County beat Strayhorn. Teammate MARQUISE HUNTER added to the ground attack by rushing for 21 yards.

5-foot-8 quarterback Johnson of Kennedy is the league leader in passing yards this season with 333. He has also thrown three touchdowns. On the ground, Thomas Skinner's team's Greg Caston has rushed for 1036 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ladarious Walker. The Broad Street star has 13 catches for 263 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when West Tallahatchie takes on Broad Street. As it stands, the Choctaws are in fifth, while Damaris Mitchell's team is in second.

The Panthers and West Tallahatchie played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Panthers eventually emerging with a 15-12 victory. BANKS in the win.
