Basketball Recap: Olivia Braun's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Nardin Academy over Sacred Heart Academy

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Nardin Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Sacred Heart Academy Sharks by a score of 46-43 on Friday. The Gators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sharks earlier this season, when they won 46-37.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Braun, who posted eight points and four steals. Braun is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Dehn, who had nine points.

Emilee Bacon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sacred Heart Academy, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 25 rebounds. Those 25 boards gave Bacon a new career-high. Olivia Mistretta was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Nardin Academy now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Nardin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they will take on Cardinal O'Hara at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cardinal O'Hara will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Sacred Heart Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
