Volleyball Recap: Girls Preparatory School Falls Short Against Ranked Baylor

Girls Preparatory School faced Baylor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bruisers fell 3-1 to the Red Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on September 9th.

While Girls Preparatory School ultimately came up short, they really made Baylor work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 26-24, 16-25, 25-20.

When it comes to explaining why Girls Preparatory School lost, don't look at Cat Nygaard. Despite the final result, she had 30 digs and five assists. Nygaard has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played. Chapman Mathis was another key player, getting 11 digs and one assist.

This is the second loss in a row for Girls Preparatory School and nudges their season record down to 18-7. As for Baylor, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-5.

Girls Preparatory School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Baylor, they will welcome CSTHEA at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
