Soccer Game Preview: Crest vs. West Henderson

The Crest Chargers will head out to take on the West Henderson Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Crest had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Ashbrook on Tuesday. The Chargers' defense stepped up to hand the Greenwave a 4-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for Crest as they're now sitting on four straight.

Meanwhile, West Henderson made easy work of Pisgah on Monday and carried off a 9-0 win. The victory continues a trend for West Henderson in their matchups with Pisgah: they've now won eight in a row.

West Henderson's offense was hitting Pisgah from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Allison Justus led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Crest pushed their record up to 8-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for West Henderson, their win bumped their record up to 10-3-2.

Crest suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to West Henderson when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
