South Mecklenburg fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Berry on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berry Cardinals. The Sabres were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 52-49.

Several Sabres players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Houpt, who posted 15 points and eight boards.
