It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Golden had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Longmont Trojans as they made off with a 15-0 win. The Demons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Sawyer Brinkman looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Golden got a massive performance out of Jaydon Stroup, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Brody McBroom was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Golden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Golden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. Golden wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-2 win against Pueblo South on the 17th. Longmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
