Basketball Recap: Byron Comes Up Short

Byron lost against New Lothrop back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Byron Eagles took a blow against the New Lothrop Hornets, falling 56-12. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while the Hornets are ranked 89th).

Byron has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for New Lothrop, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Byron will welcome Morrice at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Byron is facing Morrice at the right time seeing as Morrice is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for New Lothrop, they will be playing at home against Pewamo-Westphalia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pewamo-Westphalia will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something New Lothrop surely won't give up without a fight.
