Baseball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

Auburn was the 9-4 winner over Opelika when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers lost 11-5 to the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Auburn got a good showing from Hank Brantley, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brantley has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Lawson Hare made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Opelika, their win bumped their record up to 21-11.

Coming up, Auburn will square off against Smiths Station at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Opelika, they will face off against Glenwood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
