Baseball Recap: Federal Hocking Takes a Loss

Federal Hocking extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 37 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-15 in the process. They came up short against the Alexander Spartans, falling 9-0. If the Lancers were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Alexander, they moved to 3-10 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. That nine run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Alexander's part, the team relied heavily on Nick Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Jones has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael McKibben, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Federal Hocking will take on Fisher Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alexander, they will head out to face off against River Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
