Football Recap: Devine Warhorses vs. Jourdanton Indians/Squaws
On Friday, the Devine Warhorses didn't have too much trouble with the Jourdanton Indians/Squaws at home as they won 34-19.
Brayden Reyes had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 217 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. Elijah Contreras was another key rusher, rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns.
The victory got Devine back to even at 1-1. As for Jourdanton, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2.
Devine will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Cotulla at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jourdanton, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Pleasanton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are at an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2016.
