Volleyball Recap: Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers vs. Lourdes Knights
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Manitowoc Lutheran had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Lourdes Knights. Winning may never get old, but the Lancers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Manitowoc Lutheran never let Lourdes on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-21.
Ava Stuebs paced Manitowoc Lutheran's offense, picking up 14 kills. Stuebs got some help from
Makiah Krause and her 18 assists. Stuebs was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Despite the defeat, Lourdes saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Celia Ralofsky had seven digs and 13 assists.
Manitowoc Lutheran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 34-7 record this season. As for Lourdes, their loss dropped their record down to 25-19.
Manitowoc Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Living Word Lutheran on the 31st. Lourdes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
