Softball Recap: Gayville-Volin Takes a Loss

Gayville-Volin fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tri-Valley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-4. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kendra Beeck made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Teresa Stockman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Gayville-Volin's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Tri-Valley, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gayville-Volin will host Viborg/Hurley on Saturday. As for Tri-Valley, they will take on Beresford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
