Preview: Elysian Fields vs. Queen City

Elysian Fields have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Queen City at 7:30 PM. Elysian Fields don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

Elysian Fields might be getting used to good results now that the squad have three wins in a row. They skirted past Daingerfield 41-38. Elysian Fields found Elysian Fields's leader in underclassman sophomore Ryan Wilkerson, who picked up 115 yards on the ground and accumulated 155 passing yards. This marked the 5th match in which Ramirez has rushed for over 100 yards.

Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Queen City, and their contest two weeks ago only extended their streak of losses to five. They were completely outmatched, falling 14-50 to De Kalb. The state rankings had actually given Queen City a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Elysian Fields's win lifted them to 3-2 while Queen City's defeat dropped them down to 0-5. In their win, Elysian Fields relied heavily on sophomore Ryan Wilkerson, who picked up 115 yards on the ground and accumulated 155 passing yards. Queen City will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
