There's no place like home for Enka, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 21-3 victory over the North Buncombe Black Hawks on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Jets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Enka's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tommy McKinney led the charge by rushing for 61 yards and two scores on only eight carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns McKinney has posted since back in September of 2024. Another pass catcher making a difference was William Parham, who gained 124 total yards.

Another reason for the win was Enka's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cooper Greene, Sean King, and Ayden Moses, who each picked up one sack apiece. Jayden McElreath was another major factor on D, making 14 total tackles.

Enka's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for North Buncombe, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Enka didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-14 defeat against Erwin on the 10th. As for North Buncombe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 42-0 loss against T.C. Roberson on the 10th.
