Football Recap: Tommy Mckinney Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat North Buncombe + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McDowell, Enka was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the North Buncombe Black Hawks 21-3. The win continues a trend for the Jets in their matchups with the Black Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Enka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tommy McKinney, who rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns McKinney has posted since back in September of 2024. Another receiver making a difference was William Parham, who gained 124 total yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Enka's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cooper Greene, Sean King, and Ayden Moses, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in North Buncombe's side was Jayden McElreath, who made 14 total tackles.

Enka's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for North Buncombe, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Enka didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-14 loss against Erwin on the 10th. As for North Buncombe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 42-0 defeat against T.C. Roberson on the 10th.
