Gilbert kept a clean sheet against Midland Valley on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Mustangs. The win was some much needed relief for Gilbert as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cade Hopp and Adair Duque scored both of Gilbert's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Gilbert's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-5-2. As for Midland Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Gilbert and Midland Valley will both be playing Brookland-Cayce the next time they take the pitch. Midland Valley will host Brookland-Cayce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Gilbert will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
