Peotone had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park on Wednesday. Wilmington's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Peotone, their record now sits at 12-8.

Peotone might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Wilmington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
