Basketball Recap: Toll Gate Takes a Loss

Toll Gate was the 44-39 winner over Exeter-West Greenwich when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Toll Gate Titans might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights an easy 41-16 win.

Toll Gate got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Mary McNulty and Addison Eddy, who each put up five points. McNulty also led the team in rebounds with six.

Leading Exeter-West Greenwich to victory were Kate Hebert and Niniola Olawuyi. Hebert went 6 of 12 on her way to 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Olawuyi dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Hebert has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Toll Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, they pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Toll Gate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 37-9 loss against East Providence on the 18th. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-32 defeat against Pilgrim on the 18th.
