Football Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Easley Green Wave + Official Tickets

The Hillcrest Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the Easley Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Easley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hillcrest, who comes in off a win.

Hillcrest will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points last Friday, then bounced right back against J.L. Mann on Friday. The Rams simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Patriots 51-14. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-7.

Jackson Free had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 305 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Hillcrest's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. The Rams also got help from Luke McCourry, who showed off his sure hands for 113 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, while it was Easley who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Mauldin who put up more. The Green Wave came up short against the Mavericks, falling 49-24. The Green Wave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Josiah Coleman and Reddick Langston. Langston had a great game and rushed for 161 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Meanwhile, Coleman was balling out in the loss, throwing for 237 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 58 yards and one score.

Easley now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hillcrest, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Hillcrest took their win against Easley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 28-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
