Volleyball Recap: Village Mountaineers vs. Platte Valley Broncos

Village had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged the Platte Valley Broncos out 3-2 on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Mountaineers as they're now sitting on 12 straight.

Village had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 21-25, 32-30, 25-17, 17-15.

Lilian Edwards paced Village's offense, picking up 28 kills. Edwards got some help from Isabel Carew and her 38 assists. Finally, Erika Sayer kept Village's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Village's victory bumped their record up to 26-3. As for Platte Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-5.
