Basketball Recap: Fort Payne Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Fort Payne won the last time they faced Southside and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Fort Payne Wildcats came out on top against the Southside Panthers by a score of 43-33. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Panthers are ranked 169th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort Payne is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Southside, they dropped their record down to 12-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Fort Payne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 46-32 victory against Westminster Christian Academy on the 23rd. As for Southside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-40 loss against Gadsden City on the 24th.
