Basketball Recap: Mallard Creek Piles Up the Points Against Hough

Mallard Creek won the last time they faced Hough and things went their way on Friday too. The Mallard Creek Mavericks really took it to the Hough Huskies for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-34 victory. The Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Mallard Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiara Anderson, who went 8-for-15 on her way to 20 points along with seven boards and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Stone, who went 8-for-20 to rack up 21 points and three steals.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kate Breault, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Jacquelyn Jakubecy was another key player, putting up six points and ten boards.

Mallard Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Hough, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Mallard Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 86-7 victory against West Mecklenburg on the 11th. As for Hough, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-31 win against Harding University on the 11th.
