Softball Recap: Sam Rayburn Takes a Loss

Sam Rayburn came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-9 to the Trenton Tigers. The Rebels have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Sam Rayburn's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Trenton, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Sam Rayburn will head out on the road to square off against Dodd City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sam Rayburn has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Trenton is on a 13-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Whitewright a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
