Softball Game Preview: Thurston Colts vs. Ridgeview Ravens

The Thurston Colts will take on the Ridgeview Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Thurston comes in on ten and Ridgeview on five.

Thurston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with an 18-15 victory over Crater.

The team relied heavily on Daphnie Heckel, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 5-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassy Anderson, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-5.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Thurston lost a few balls and finished the game with six home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview earned a 6-2 win over Canby on Tuesday.

Thurston's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Ridgeview, their victory bumped their record up to 26-1.

Thurston suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Ridgeview when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
