DeSoto Central gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Lafayette Commodores by a score of 2-0. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Commodores walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2023.

While DeSoto Central won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21.

DeSoto Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Remy Mcintosh, who had 12 digs.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

DeSoto Central has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bay on the 1st. As for Lafayette, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Newton County on the 2nd.
