Basketball Game Preview: Riverdale Raiders vs. North Clayton Eagles

Riverdale and North Clayton are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2020, but not for long. The Riverdale Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the North Clayton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Riverdale lost to Mt. Zion on the road by a 39-20 margin. The Raiders have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, North Clayton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They breezed by the Pirates to the tune of 59-24. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

North Clayton now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

Riverdale might still be hurting after the 47-24 loss they got from North Clayton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North Clayton's Shiphard Oglesby, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Now that Riverdale knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
