Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Covenant Christian and University squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Covenant Christian had to settle for second. They fell 56-46 to the University Trailblazers. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Crane, who went 5-for-6 en route to 12 points. Crane is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joe Midla, who posted ten points.

University's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Max McComb led the charge by shooting 55% from the field on his way to 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Blake Gray was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Covenant Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for University and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

Covenant Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for University, they have already played their next game, a 62-49 win against Monrovia on the 7th.
