Flag Football Recap: Leading Edge Academy - GEC Snags Three Interceptions Passes in Defeat

Leading Edge Academy - GEC was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 22-6 to the ALA - Ironwood Warriors.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Armani Rameriz was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by herself. Another thorn in ALA - Ironwood's side was Rameriz, who made nine total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Sylvia Willis was the offensive standout of the game as she picked up 31 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 54 yards on only seven carries.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for ALA - Ironwood, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-7 victory against Madison Highland Prep on the 6th. As for ALA - Ironwood, they are taking a road trip to face off against Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 12th. The Heroes' defense has only allowed 1.1 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
