The Heritage Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Perris Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 871 yards in their previous games.
Heritage proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 28) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 35-34 win over Citrus Hill.

Heritage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Sanchez, who threw for 220 yards and four TDs. Those four passing touchdowns gave Sanchez a new career-high. Heritage also got a significant boost from Hayden Hill, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 174 yards.
Heritage didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Citrus Hill to a completion percentage of just 40%. The team can thank Caleb Williamson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Heritage wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perris). They blew past Canyon Springs 33-7 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.
Heritage better focus on containing Logan Moore and Xavier Cruz as the pair were huge in Perris' win. Moore rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown, while Cruz threw for 324 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt.
One reason for the win was Perris' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Dekoven Washington and Aden Perez, who racked up all five sacks between them. Perez also made ten total tackles, which is notable because Perris is 2-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-5 otherwise. The Panthers received some extra help from Washington, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.5 points over those games. As for Perris, their record now sits at 3-6.
Heritage suffered a grim 33-12 defeat to Perris in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
