Baseball Recap: Valley Falls Short of Hope Christian in the Playoffs

Valley and Hope Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Valley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the sixth time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-3 loss on Saturday.

Zaid Alomari was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luis Gomez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Valley now has a losing record of 14-15. As for Hope Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hope Christian, they will take on Artesia at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight.
