Soccer Game Preview: Grace Christian vs. Kodiak

The Grace Christian Grizzlies will head out on the road to face off against the Kodiak Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Grace Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Palmer, who was ranked 12th at the time (Grace Christian was ranked 14th). The Grizzlies took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Moose on Tuesday. One thing that didn't help Grace Christian's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Scarlett Hall.

Meanwhile, Kodiak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 12-0 to Wasilla.

Grace Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-2. As for Kodiak, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Grace Christian took their victory against Kodiak in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
