Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Green Valley Gators

The Liberty Patriots will head out to challenge the Green Valley Gators at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty will be strutting in after a victory while Green Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Liberty not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 13-3). Everything went their way against Bishop Alemany as they made off with a 13-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Jaydrien Klein-Baker was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashaan Chavis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Green Valley faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Gators lost 11-1 to the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Gators in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Green Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Green Valley in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
