Basketball Game Preview: Aberdeen Christian Knights vs. Western Christian Wolfpack

The Aberdeen Christian Knights will face off against the Western Christian Wolfpack at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Aberdeen Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Herreid/Selby with a sharp 62-42 win. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Wolverines are ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Western Christian entered their tilt with Gretna on Saturday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 64-54.

Western Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Aberdeen Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
