Baseball Recap: Shawnee Takes a Loss

Shawnee's last matchup with Kenton Ridge could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Braves lost 16-1 to the Cougars. The defeat continues a trend for the Braves in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost eight in a row.

Shawnee saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Finnell, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Noah Belcher also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Shawnee's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Kenton Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Shawnee will head out to challenge Springfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Kenton Ridge, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Piqua at 12:00 p.m.
