Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Grant Heil and Clancy Koupal Lead Hot Springs to Victory

Hot Springs's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers by a score of 19-6. The victory continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Golddiggers: they've now won five in a row.

Leading Hot Springs to victory were Clancy Koupal and Grant Heil. Koupal rushed for 208 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, while Heil rushed for 29 yards and a pair of scores. Those 208 rushing yards gave Koupal a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hot Springs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

Hot Springs' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Lead-Deadwood, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
