Baseball Recap: Midland Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fairview, Midland was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Hathaway Hornets. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Andrew Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

In other batting news, Drew Babineaux was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Midland: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10 otherwise.

Midland's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Hathaway, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midland will host Reeves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hathaway, they will welcome Oberlin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
